Despite his success, Osibona suffered a great deal of misfortunes. In fact, he was convicted of crimes and was arrested by the government of Lagos State. Despite this, he was eventually released. Before becoming a real estate developer, Osibona started his career as a shoe maker. During his time as a shoemaker, he sold suits and shoes for a living. While in the United Kingdom, Osibona worked with Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Center in London. He advised and consulted with the pastor on many of his business ventures. They became good friends. For years, they shared a close bond. A member of the Celestial Church of Christ, Osibona adored the pulpit.

When he first came to the United Kingdom, he did not have much luck in selling his suites. However, in 1997, he obtained an HND in Business and Finance. Then, he decided to start his real estate venture in London. Since then, he has been involved in numerous projects in the United Kingdom and South Africa. One of his most successful projects was the construction of a seven-storey building in East London.

In addition to his work as a real estate developer, Femi also had a hand in the development of the 360 Degrees Towers in Ikoyi. This project was designed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria. Initially, the building was a sixteen-floor building. But then, it collapsed. According to reports, Osibona was inside the building when it sank. Upon learning of the tragedy, the family of Femi Osibona denied the allegations that he had abused them.

As a real estate developer, Osibona was also a member of the National House Building Research Council, a body that has the goal of establishing a standard for residential and commercial buildings in the U.K. He also sponsored the home of the Little Saints orphanages in Lagos.

He was 55 years old when he passed away. In his time, Femi Osibona was known to the upper classes in society. Until his death, he had been a member of the Celestial Church and was one of the leading members of the Nigerian business community. Currently, the country is in mourning over his death.
