Aside from his storied career, Jeff Fusile had a family. He was the proud father of two girls and is survived by his wife Teresa. The former Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia president has also spent the past 22 years as a strategic management consultant specializing in the health care industry. Throughout his professional life, he was an active member of his community in all manner of ways.

One of the more laudable feats of Jeff’s career was his role in the launch of Our Community Cares, a nonprofit organization based in the Richmond Hill area. Not only did he make a difference in his community, he made a name for himself as a witty conversationalist, philanthropist and social media enthusiast. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer on October 2, 2022. With Jeff’s passing, the health insurance market will miss his stewardship and dedication.

In his heyday, Fusile was a leading edge thinker in the health care arena. Aside from his responsibilities at BCBSGa, he served as the national leader for HIPAA compliance services, and led a payer advisory organization headquartered in Chicago.

As part of his responsibilities at BCBSGa, Fusile made the transition from consulting to senior vice president and chief financial officer. During this time, he oversaw the company’s commercial and specialty business. Additionally, he was the lead on the company’s “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” (PPACA) initiatives. Eventually, he would move on to the role of CFO for the entire Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa) group.

One of the more laudable accomplishments of Jeff’s long and storied career was his role in the launch of Our community Cares, a local nonprofit organization based in the Richmond Hill area.
